Windows XP Service Pack 2 Decisions
Monday, August 16, Microsoft is releasing a major upgrade to their Windows XP Home and Professional operating systems. As with most Microsoft major upgrades, this may have an impact on your use of other programs, including the MLS. As you are in control of your own computer equipment, we have no way of knowing what software you may have installed or how current you have kept the upgrades on your computer.
We strongly suggest you contact your computer support professional BEFORE installing this Service Pack!
For those of you that have your Windows XP computer setup to automatically download and install Windows updates, please contact your computer support person before August 16. And, if you don't know how your computer is set up, make sure to call your computer support person!
You may want to visit the Microsoft website at
and follow the links to more information about this upgrade.
to be directed to a review of the upgrade. We also have a
printable article from Microsoft at this link,
stepping you through an upgrade process. See Step 2 at this site to review
your current auto-update settings. Microsoft recommends turning on all
auto-update features - you may not want to do that. Use your good judgment
for your equipment!
