The Southwestern Michigan Regional Information Center’s
(SWMRIC) Rules and Regulations for its Broker Reciprocity program have been
amended and the changes take effect January 1, 2007. Below is a summary of

New Rules.
Summary
Brokers and Agents may exclude listings from
display on their website based on objective criteria such as type of
property, list price, cooperative compensation offered by listing
brokers, etc..
Confidential information intended only for other
Brokers and Agents may not be displayed on Broker Reciprocity Websites.
All SWMRIC Data must be refreshed at least once
every seven (7) days.
Property Addresses for listings which the seller
has directed the listing broker to not display on the internet shall not
be accessible via Broker Reciprocity websites.
Brokers and Agents can not display the seller’s or
occupant’s names, phone number or email address.
When displaying listing content, a Broker’s or
Agent’s Broker Reciprocity site must clearly identify the name of the
brokerage firm under which they operate in a readily visible color and
type face.
The definition of a brief or thumbnail display no
longer has photo size as criteria. It is defined as being no more than
120 characters of listing data.
The rules were clarified that the Listing Office’s
Name and phone number and the Listing Agent’s name when required to be
displayed must be displayed as part of the Listing Data and not within
the copyright and disclaimer notice area.
